How hard is it to cancel YouSee?

YouSee scores 56/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the DK, a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via phone, online (self-serve), in person.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

YouSee subscriptions are cancelled primarily by calling customer service (70 70 36 90); an online written request form is also available but takes up to 5 business days for processing, so cancellation is not instant online. Notice periods are: TV, current month plus one additional month ('løbende måned + 1 måned'); Broadband, Mobile, and Fixed-line, one month's notice. Maximum binding period is 6 months. Prepaid amounts are refunded via Denmark's NemKonto system within 10 business days after the final settlement is issued (within 7 days of closure); no proration penalty, but customers must pay any outstanding invoice before the refund is processed. Denmark's consumer code does not mandate a one-click online cancel button (that obligation is German §312k), so YouSee lawfully requires phone or form-based cancellation.

How to cancel YouSee

  • Channels: phone, online (self-serve), in person
  • Official cancellation page: https://yousee.dk/hjaelp/artikler/sadan-opsiger-du-et-abonnement
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No subscription pause/freeze option is documented by YouSee. The only 'pause' referenced on their help pages is the live-TV remote control pause feature, not a billing suspension.
  • Account/data deletion: Customers can submit a data access/deletion request via YouSee's online form; YouSee responds within 30 days. Data is retained briefly after account closure to handle queries and then deleted. https://yousee.dk/hjaelp/artikler/ret-til-indsigt

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
