How hard is it to cancel Youi?

Youi scores 69/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the AU, a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), phone, post.

Last reviewed 2026-06-16 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Youi customers cancel a car insurance policy by logging into their policy and completing the cancellation request form, or by calling 13 9684; cancellation can also be submitted in writing via registered mail. Where a policy is changed or cancelled, a premium refund may be due and is credited to the bank account used to pay (credit-card refunds may be restricted by the card provider). A cooling-off period applies, within which a full refund is available if no claim has been made; after that, a pro-rata refund of unused cover applies and a small administration fee may be charged. NSW CTP policies use a separate cancellation/refund form emailed to [email protected].

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
