Self-serve online: account.microsoft.com -> Services & subscriptions (or on console) -> find Game Pass -> Manage -> Cancel / turn off recurring billing; access continues to the expiry date. Full/partial refund only within 14 days of purchase or renewal (case-by-case, weighted by usage); no refund after. Some countries get an immediate prorated refund by law.

How to cancel Xbox Game Pass

  • Channels: online (self-serve), in-app
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptions-billing/manage-subscriptions/cancel-recurring-billing-or-subscription
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause. Turning off recurring billing keeps access until the expiry date, then benefits lapse.
  • Account/data deletion: Cancelling / turning off billing doesn't delete your Microsoft/Xbox account, saves, or purchases; Game Pass catalog games become unplayable once the sub lapses (games you bought outright are kept). Account/data deletion is a separate privacy request via account.microsoft.com.
