How hard is it to cancel World of Warcraft?

World of Warcraft scores 76/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

WoW subscriptions are cancelled online only: log in to Battle.net account management, go to Games & Subscriptions, click Manage next to the WoW account, then click Cancel Subscription. No notice period is required — cancellation can be done at any time and access remains active through the end of the current billing cycle. Subscriptions are explicitly non-refundable, though a case-by-case refund review process exists. A pause option (1–6 months) is available as an alternative to full cancellation, delaying the next renewal date without freezing active game time.

How to cancel World of Warcraft

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://us.support.blizzard.com/en/article/124492
  • Pause/freeze: available — Subscription can be paused for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 6 months via Battle.net account settings. Pausing delays the next billing/renewal date but does not freeze or pause currently active game time already on the account. Can be resumed or fully cancelled at any time during the pause period.
  • Account/data deletion: Battle.net account deletion and personal data erasure available via Blizzard's Right to Delete process. Submit the form (with government-issued ID for identity verification) by email to [email protected]. A separate support article covers Battle.net account deletion. Requests may take up to 30 days to process. https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/legal/14c3059f-905b-4b2c-9456-12a6e77dbc6c/blizzard-right-to-delete

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
