How hard is it to cancel WHOOP?

WHOOP scores 68/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

WHOOP membership is cancelled online via app.whoop.com (Membership menu → Cancel your Membership) or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current commitment period — no prorated refund is issued for unused time. A full refund (minus return shipping) is available only if the device is returned within 30 days of receipt. Memberships auto-renew and members must cancel before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next term; WHOOP provides 15 days' notice of price changes.

How to cancel WHOOP

  • Channels: online (self-serve), email
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.whoop.com/s/article/Canceling-Your-Membership?language=en_US
  • Pause/freeze: available — Members can pause their membership via app.whoop.com; billing and data uploads stop during the pause. Pause duration is flexible (community reports of 1–3+ month pauses). Catch: while a pause is active, the cancellation tool is inaccessible — users must first lift the pause (which immediately resumes billing) before they can cancel, a flow that WHOOP community members have flagged as deceptive.
  • Account/data deletion: Users can request full account and data deletion via the WHOOP Privacy Center self-service portal or by emailing [email protected]. Identity verification is required. WHOOP may retain aggregated or de-identified data after deletion. https://privacy.whoop.com/

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
