How hard is it to cancel Vodacom?

Vodacom scores 50/100 (grade D) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the ZA — a poorly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via phone, email, in person.

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade D

Vodacom South Africa requires customers to cancel by calling 082 1958 (or 0821904 for fibre), emailing [email protected] for premature cancellations, or visiting a walk-in store — no online self-service cancellation is available for contracts. A 30-calendar day (or 20 business days written) notice is required; early termination before the contract end date (24/36/48-month terms) incurs a premature cancellation charge covering one month's subscription, unbilled usage, and any outstanding hardware/subsidy balance. Unused bundled minutes or airtime are forfeited at termination with no refund; a cancellation quote is valid 14 days. No pause or freeze option is offered.

How to cancel Vodacom

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
