How hard is it to cancel Vodacom?

Vodacom scores 50/100 (grade D) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the ZA, a poorly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via phone, email, in person.

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade D

Vodacom South Africa requires customers to cancel by calling 082 1958 (or 0821904 for fibre), emailing [email protected] for premature cancellations, or visiting a walk-in store, no online self-service cancellation is available for contracts. A 30-calendar day (or 20 business days written) notice is required; early termination before the contract end date (24/36/48-month terms) incurs a premature cancellation charge covering one month's subscription, unbilled usage, and any outstanding hardware/subsidy balance. Unused bundled minutes or airtime are forfeited at termination with no refund; a cancellation quote is valid 14 days. No pause or freeze option is offered.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
