How hard is it to cancel TXU Energy?
TXU Energy scores 66/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US, a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via phone, online (self-serve).
TXU Energy customers cancel or transfer service by calling customer care (e.g. 1-866-278-4898) or via online chat; TXU coordinates with the local TDU for a final meter read and issues a final bill for usage through the last day of service. Fixed-term plans carry an early termination fee scaling with term length (commonly $150 / $295 / $395 for 12 / 24 / 36-month plans). As a Texas REP, customers have a 3-day right of rescission after enrollment, and TXU must send a contract-expiration notice within ~30 business days during which customers can switch fee-free. Fees are waived for qualifying moves and for switching to an equal-or-longer TXU plan; exact terms are in the Terms of Service Agreement, EFL and Your Rights as a Customer documents.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
