How hard is it to cancel Trend Micro?
Trend Micro scores 75/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), in-app, phone.
Trend Micro subscriptions purchased from the official online store can be cancelled online via account.trendmicro.com (Licenses tab → Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription), through the relevant app store (Apple/Google/Microsoft) for in-app purchases, or via phone for Best Buy/ISP purchases. Cancellation stops auto-renewal immediately but service remains active through the current paid term — there is no pro-rated credit for unused time. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies only to direct online-store purchases, with refunds processed within 5–7 business days minus shipping; retail, app-store, and Best Buy purchases must follow those partners' own refund flows. No pause/freeze feature exists, and no notice period is required before cancelling.

- Account/data deletion: No dedicated data deletion or account closure policy is documented in the Help Center cancellation articles; cancelling auto-renew only stops future billing and does not trigger any stated data removal process.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
