How hard is it to cancel Tovala?
Tovala scores 75/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US, a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), in-app, email.
Tovala subscriptions can be cancelled self-serve in the app under Settings > Meal Plan > Delivery Settings; the deadline is Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT the week before the next order processes. Customers under a meal commitment (discounted oven purchase tied to ordering 6 weeks of meals within 6 months) cannot pause, only skip weeks, and early cancellation may trigger a buy-out fee equal to the oven's full retail price. Within the first 100 days, customers can instead return the oven for a full refund and Tovala will cancel the meal plan via customer support. No proration is offered on already-processed meal orders.
How to cancel Tovala
- Channels: online (self-serve), in-app, email
- Official cancellation page: https://support.tovala.com/hc/en-us/articles/115009553468-What-s-the-difference-between-skipping-pausing-canceling
- Pause/freeze: available, Pause is available but only after the meal commitment is fully satisfied. Customers still under a meal commitment can only skip individual weeks (up to 5 at a time), not pause. Pause stops all unprocessed upcoming and future deliveries while saving subscription preferences.
- Account/data deletion: No dedicated self-serve account/data deletion page found. Upon cancellation, Tovala removes the customer from its active list, deletes meal plan settings, and stops meal-related communications. Data deletion requests would need to be submitted via customer support. https://my.tovala.com/legal/privacy-policy

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
