How hard is it to cancel Telenet?
Telenet scores 58/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the BE — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via phone, online (self-serve), postal mail, in person.
Telenet (BE) residential customers can cancel via phone (0800 66 350, free, Mon–Fri 8–20h, Sat 9–18h), an online web form (processed within 2 business days), registered mail to Telenet Klantendienst, Liersesteenweg 4, 2800 Mechelen, or in person at a Telenet Shop; add-ons and entertainment packages can be cancelled self-service in MyTelenet but full-subscription cancellation requires contacting customer service. Core internet and TV services have no minimum contract duration and no early termination fee; mobile subscriptions tied to a subsidised device require paying the residual device value. For streaming and channel packages (1-month contract), any prepaid amount is credited to the next invoice; cancellation within the first month incurs a fee for remaining days. The Easy Switch scheme lets a new operator handle the full port-away process using the customer's Easy Switch ID from their invoice.
How to cancel Telenet
- Channels: phone, online (self-serve), postal mail, in person
- Official cancellation page: https://www2.telenet.be/residential/nl/klantenservice/je-gegevens-aanpassen/je-abonnement/telenet-abonnement-opzeggen.html
- Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is documented on Telenet's official help pages. Telenet suggests downgrading or switching plans as an alternative to full cancellation.
- Account/data deletion: Customers with a My Telenet account can submit a right-to-erasure request via a form in the MyTelenet portal; non-customers can visit a Telenet Shop or use the contact form at /residential/en/legal-information/privacy-ask-your-question.html. Full deletion is not always possible — service-related data must be retained for legal/regulatory reasons. Telenet responds within 30 days. https://www2.telenet.be/residential/en/legal-information/privacy-rights.html

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
