How hard is it to cancel Telcel?

Telcel scores 48/100 (grade D) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the MX — a poorly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via phone, in person, in-app.

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade D

Telcel postpaid plan cancellations must be requested by phone (*111), in person at a CAC (Customer Attention Center), or through Mi Telcel for add-on services; definitive contract termination cannot be completed solely online. Cancellation takes effect on the day of the request, with no advance notice period required. Customers with an active mandatory commitment period (plazo forzoso) are subject to an early termination penalty of 20% of the monthly fixed charge multiplied by the remaining months, capped at two monthly charges; all outstanding balances and device installments must also be settled. No refunds or proration are offered for unused billing periods, and no voluntary service pause is available.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
