How hard is it to cancel Teamwork?

Teamwork scores 77/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Teamwork subscriptions can be cancelled entirely online through the account dashboard (Profile > Subscription > Cancel my subscription > off-boarding survey > Cancel Plan), with no phone or email required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, after which the account automatically downgrades to the Free Forever plan with data preserved but limited to 5 active users and 5 active projects. Per the Terms of Service, all subscription fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable; pro-rated refunds are only issued if Teamwork.com itself terminates the contract without cause. A separate 'Delete Account' option permanently and irreversibly removes all site data.

How to cancel Teamwork

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.teamwork.com/projects/subscription/downgrade-or-delete-your-account
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is documented. The alternative to full cancellation is downgrading to the Free Forever plan.
  • Account/data deletion: Cancelling a subscription (not deleting) downgrades the account to Free Forever and preserves data. Choosing 'Delete Account' permanently and irreversibly deletes all site data. Post-termination, customer data may be retrieved within 10 days of requesting it (within 30 days of termination), subject to outstanding fees; otherwise Teamwork.com may dispose of it.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
