How hard is it to cancel Synthesia?

Synthesia scores 70/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Paid plan (Starter and Creator) subscribers cancel online via Account Info > Billing > three-dot menu > Cancel your subscription; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation for Enterprise/Business plans requires 30 days' written notice before the subscription end date to prevent auto-renewal. All fees are explicitly non-cancelable and non-refundable under the Customer Terms of Service; the only refund exception is a customer-initiated termination for cause (material breach by Synthesia), which entitles a refund of prepaid fees for the unused remainder of the term. No pause/freeze option is offered.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
