How hard is it to cancel Slingshot?

Slingshot (now operated under 2degrees) requires cancellation by phone (0800 89 2027) or via an online contact/email form — there is no self-serve online cancellation. Customers must request cancellation before the end of their current billing period; service and billing continue through that period with no proration. Fixed-term contract customers are liable for a $250 NZD early termination fee. Account credits on the final bill can be refunded on request, but no general proration or mid-cycle refunds are offered.

• Pause/freeze: not offered. Slingshot explicitly states it cannot place services on hold or temporarily cancel an account. Services remain connected at the exchange, so billing continues regardless. The only way to stop charges is full cancellation.
• Account/data deletion: No formal account data deletion process is documented on Slingshot's help pages. The broadband terms note that emails on their servers are removed after 90 days without notice. General privacy rights under NZ's Privacy Act 2020 would apply but no self-serve deletion tool or specific request process is disclosed.
