Sky UK scores 64/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the UK, a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via phone, online (self-serve), in-app, email.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

To cancel Sky TV, customers must give 31 days' notice (14 days for broadband/talk); cancellation is initiated by calling Sky (0344 241 4141), via live chat, through My Sky online account, or in writing, but Sky requires phone verification before acting on written/email requests. Sky offers an enhanced 31-day cooling-off period (above the statutory 14 days) during which full refunds including delivery costs apply; outside cooling-off, no mid-period refunds are given but credit for advance-billed overpayment is returned within approximately 6 weeks. Early termination during a minimum-term contract incurs charges equal to the remaining discounted term; early cancellation charge rates changed as of 31 March 2026. The UK CMA's auto-renewal guidance applies, but Sky does not provide a single-click online cancellation button, the online journey at sky.com/cancel funnels into phone or chat to complete the request.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
