How hard is it to cancel Similarweb?

Similarweb scores 71/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-10 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Similarweb's official Knowledge Center states you can cancel a subscription at any time, self-serve from within the platform: click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner, go to Account > Subscription Information, then click 'Cancel Plan' in the top-right corner. After canceling, the subscription stays active until the end of the current subscription period and then automatically completes the cancellation when that period ends (no notice period required, no early termination). The article gives no refund or proration terms. Free users do not cancel but instead delete their free account via Settings & Help > Account > Delete Account. Note: enterprise/contracted plans may require contacting an account manager, but the documented self-serve path applies to standard plans. No in-app-store billing is involved (web/platform billing).

How to cancel Similarweb

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.similarweb.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404037294225-How-do-I-cancel-my-subscription
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is documented in Similarweb's Knowledge Center. The only documented options are canceling the subscription (which remains active until the end of the period) or deleting a free account.
  • Account/data deletion: Free/trial users can self-serve delete their account: Settings & Help > Account > Delete Account, then select a reason and deletion settings and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent (all reports and dashboards are permanently deleted; the email cannot be reused for another trial; the user is unsubscribed from all Similarweb emails). Paying/trial subscribers are directed to cancel their subscription first. No explicit GDPR/CCPA language is stated in the article. https://support.similarweb.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011019118-How-do-I-delete-my-free-account

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
