How hard is it to cancel Robinhood Gold?

Robinhood Gold scores 70/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via in-app, online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Robinhood Gold can be cancelled in-app (Account > Menu > Robinhood Gold > Cancel membership) or on the website; no phone or mail channel is documented. Access to premium features (High-Yield Cash, Gold-level instant deposits) continues until the end of the current billing cycle, so cancelling before the next billing date avoids an additional charge. No refund or proration is disclosed for unused days; the subscription fee is effectively non-refundable mid-cycle. Users who hold a Robinhood Gold Credit Card must close that card first before they can cancel the Gold subscription.

How to cancel Robinhood Gold

  • Channels: in-app, online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/downgrade-from-gold/
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option exists; cancellation is final and access continues until end of the current billing cycle.
  • Account/data deletion: Users can request deletion of non-essential data (marketing interactions, device identifiers, ad-campaign data) via Account > Security and privacy > Manage your data > Request data deletion in the app or web. Robinhood retains data required by financial-institution regulations; a deletion request does not close or deactivate the account. https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/managing-your-personal-data/

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
