How hard is it to cancel Plausible Analytics?

Plausible Analytics scores 82/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Cancellation is fully self-service: log in, go to Account Settings > Subscription, and click 'Cancel plan' — no email or phone required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; full access and stats collection continue until then. All fees paid are non-refundable (stated explicitly in ToS), though plan downgrades do generate prorated credits applied to future invoices. There is no pause/freeze option; data is not immediately deleted on cancellation but becomes inaccessible once the paid period expires, with permanent deletion occurring after a backup retention window.

How to cancel Plausible Analytics

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://plausible.io/docs/cancel-subscription
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is offered. The only options are to remain subscribed, downgrade, or cancel.
  • Account/data deletion: Users can delete their account at any time via Account Settings > Danger zone > Delete Account. Deletion removes all sites and stats permanently without undue delay. If subscription lapses without account deletion, stats become inaccessible after the billing period ends; data may be retained in backups for a limited period before permanent deletion. https://plausible.io/docs/delete-account

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
