How hard is it to cancel Parallel (Parallel Web Systems)?
Parallel (Parallel Web Systems) scores 72/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.
Parallel (Parallel Web Systems) is a pay-as-you-go AI web API (Search, Task/Deep Research, Extract, Chat, Monitor, Find All), billed per request against a prepaid Billing Account on the Customer Platform (platform.parallel.ai) via a third-party payment processor. There is no monthly subscription; the only recurring charge is the optional auto-reload that tops up your balance. Per the Customer Terms, you can cancel auto-reload 'at any time through Customer's account setting' (self-serve, online), which stops future recurring charges. Account-level termination is governed by the agreement: either party may terminate for uncured material breach after 30 days' written notice (10 days for non-payment), and either party may terminate immediately on insolvency. Refund stance is strict: 'Any payment is non-cancellable and non-refundable' unless an Online Order says otherwise, and termination does not entitle you to any refund or relieve you of fees already due. No mobile app-store billing is involved (developer API). For full account closure or data deletion, contact [email protected].
How to cancel Parallel (Parallel Web Systems)
- Channels: online (self-serve), email
- Official cancellation page: https://parallel.ai/customer-terms
- Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is documented. Because billing is pay-as-you-go (per-request, prepaid balance with optional auto-reload), there is no recurring subscription to pause; users simply stop making API requests and/or disable auto-reload to halt further charges.
- Account/data deletion: The Privacy Policy provides no dedicated self-serve account/data deletion flow. Users contact [email protected] to request deletion. California (CCPA) residents may email [email protected] to exercise privacy rights; Parallel states it does not sell personal data under Nevada law. The Customer Terms require customers, upon termination, to delete/destroy/return all Parallel IP and certify deletion in writing. Personal/profile data is retained 'for as long as you have an account with us.' https://parallel.ai/privacy-policy

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
