Customers can cancel via phone (133 937), the My Optus app or website (locate service > Manage Plan > Cancel Service), live chat, or in-person at an Optus store. A 30-day notice period applies; the service remains active and billable until the notice period expires. Pro-rata refunds are issued for any amounts paid in advance beyond the cancellation date, provided there are no outstanding charges. Customers on a fixed-term contract who cancel early will incur an early termination fee, and any leased equipment must be returned within 30 days to avoid additional charges.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
