How hard is it to cancel Optimum?
Optimum scores 45/100 (grade D) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US, a poorly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via phone, in person.
Optimum requires customers to cancel by phone (or in person at a store); there is no online self-serve cancellation for residential internet, TV, or phone services. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, payments are nonrefundable and there is no proration for partial billing periods. If canceling before the end of a promotional term, an early cancellation fee plus all outstanding charges applies. Equipment must be promptly returned after cancellation or customers are charged per-device fees.
