How hard is it to cancel N26?
N26 scores 80/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the DE — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.
After the 14-day revocation period you can cancel an N26 premium membership (Smart/Go/Metal) directly in the app via My Account > Your membership > Modify or cancel Membership, which terminates immediately without a notice period. Within the initial 12-month contract you can instead stop auto-renewal (via support chat), keeping benefits until expiry before auto-downgrading to Standard; within 14 days you revoke via the support chat. You can also switch between premium tiers without dropping to Standard, preserving Spaces and rules. Cancelling deactivates premium cards and stops insurance but does not close the account. No pro-rata refund is documented. Account closure and GDPR erasure are handled separately via the app/WebApp or support, subject to regulatory retention.
