Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Movistar Mexico customers can request line cancellation via phone (*611 or 800 888 8366), WhatsApp, the movistar.com.mx website, the Mi Movistar app, or in person at a Movistar store; identity verification (full name, address, date of birth, RFC) is required regardless of channel. For postpaid contracts without a mandatory term, only accrued service charges are due; contracts with a fixed term (plazo forzoso) also incur an early-termination penalty and any remaining device balance. If a credit balance exists at cancellation, Movistar returns it within 5 business days; outstanding balances must be settled by the deadline on the last issued invoice. No voluntary service pause or freeze is offered to consumer subscribers.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
