Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Magyar Telekom subscribers can cancel by email (scanned signed request), phone (1400/1414), in person at stores, or by mail; there is no fully self-serve online cancellation. For open-ended contracts, cancellation takes effect immediately or on a subscriber-specified date up to 30 days later; for fixed-term contracts, it takes effect on the date stated in the notice (max 8 days out). Early termination of a fixed-term contract during the commitment period incurs a penalty fee (kötbér); the final bill covers the partial period from the billing cycle start to disconnection date. Service suspension (pause) is available for up to 6 months without penalty if the account has no outstanding balance.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
