How hard is it to cancel Lunch Money?

Lunch Money scores 71/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Lunch Money subscriptions are cancelled online via the Billing page in the web app using the 'Cancel subscription & delete entire account' button; no phone, mail, or in-person option exists. Upon cancellation, the account and all data are purged within 48 hours and access is not extended to the next renewal date. Refunds are not issued by default, but case-by-case prorated refund requests may be submitted to [email protected]. A subscription-pause option is also available, preserving data without charges and applying a prorated credit for future use.

How to cancel Lunch Money

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.lunchmoney.app/settings/payment-methods
  • Pause/freeze: available — Users can pause their subscription indefinitely from the Billing page in Settings. No charges accrue while paused; a pro-rated credit for unused time is applied to the account for future use. Account data is inaccessible but not deleted while paused. Pausing forfeits the current locked-in plan price — on return, users must choose from then-current pricing.
  • Account/data deletion: Cancelling via the 'Cancel subscription & delete entire account' flow on the Billing page triggers deletion of the account and all associated data within 48 hours. Users may also email [email protected] to request account deletion within 48 hours. GDPR data-deletion rights are acknowledged in the Privacy Policy. https://support.lunchmoney.app/faq

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
