How hard is it to cancel LastPass?
LastPass scores 72/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).
LastPass subscriptions are cancelled online via the vault by navigating to Account Settings > My Account and clicking Cancel, which stops auto-renewal but retains Premium access through the end of the paid billing period. The cancellation is self-serve and multi-step within the account dashboard. All payments are final and non-refundable per the Terms of Service; no prorated refunds are issued for unused time. No pause or freeze option is available, and account data can be permanently deleted separately at lastpass.com/delete_account.php.
How to cancel LastPass
- Channels: online (self-serve)
- Official cancellation page: https://support.lastpass.com/help/how-do-i-cancel-automatic-renewal-for-lastpass-premium-lp010116
- Pause/freeze: not offered. LastPass does not offer any documented pause or freeze option for subscriptions.
- Account/data deletion: Users can permanently and irreversibly delete their account at lastpass.com/delete_account.php, which removes all vault data (sites, secure notes, form fills) immediately with no recovery possible. LastPass recommends cancelling the subscription before deleting the account; if subscription is not cancelled first, users must contact support. Deletion is possible even without knowing the master password. https://lastpass.com/delete_account.php

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
