To close a Kraken account: go to Account icon > Settings (web) or Account > Account details (app), scroll to 'Close account', review the notice, select a reason, and confirm. All funds must be withdrawn first — account closure does not refund or liquidate holdings. Kraken+ subscriptions are NOT cancelled by account closure; they must be cancelled separately via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or via the cancel button on the Kraken web subscription page. Subscription cancellations take effect at end of the current billing cycle with no refund for unused portions. All trades and deposits are explicitly non-refundable per the Global Terms of Service. Account closure is available self-serve on web and all mobile app platforms.

  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option exists for Kraken accounts or Kraken+ subscriptions. Users can cancel the subscription and retain benefits until end of billing cycle.
  • Refund policy: https://www.kraken.com/legal/global-terms
  • Account/data deletion: California residents and others may request deletion of personal data via the Kraken support form or by phone at (888) 871-2573. Kraken responds within 45 days. Note: financial/AML regulations require retention of client records for ~5 years after the relationship ends, so deletion is subject to legal exceptions.
