How hard is it to cancel Koinly?

Koinly scores 55/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via email, online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Koinly sells one-time per-tax-year plans rather than recurring subscriptions, so there is no ongoing subscription to cancel. To obtain a refund, users must contact Koinly support (via live chat or email) within 7 days of purchase and must not have generated any reports; refunds take 5–10 business days (up to 30 days for crypto payments). Koinly does not offer partial refunds but can downgrade a plan and issue account credits for the difference. Account closure (and full data deletion) is self-serve via the Settings page.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
