How hard is it to cancel Koinly?

Koinly scores 67/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US, a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via email, online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-14 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Koinly sells one-time per-tax-year plans rather than recurring subscriptions, so there is no ongoing subscription to cancel. To obtain a refund, users must contact Koinly support (via live chat or email) within 7 days of purchase and must not have generated any reports; refunds take 5-10 business days (up to 30 days for crypto payments). Koinly does not offer partial refunds but can downgrade a plan and issue account credits for the difference. Account closure (and full data deletion) is self-serve via the Settings page.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
