How hard is it to cancel Klaviyo?

Klaviyo scores 81/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Klaviyo allows self-serve online cancellation by account Owners or Admins via Settings > Billing > Cancel Plan; the flow requires selecting a reason, choosing immediate or end-of-billing-cycle timing, and typing the account name to confirm. Cancellation takes effect either immediately (flows enter draft mode instantly) or at the end of the current billing cycle (features remain active through the last day). No refunds are issued for unused days if cancelled mid-cycle; Klaviyo explicitly recommends cancelling at the end of the billing cycle to avoid losing paid time. Manually-billed and multi-month contract accounts cannot self-cancel online and must contact Klaviyo Support.

How to cancel Klaviyo

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260805595309
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is documented. Users can downgrade to a free plan or cancel entirely; no mid-cycle suspension is offered.
  • Account/data deletion: Canceling a plan or account keeps data intact but disables features. Closing an account permanently deletes all data (profiles, campaigns, flows, templates). Only account Owners can close an account. Users are advised to export data before closing. https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260805595309

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
