How hard is it to cancel JioCinema (JioHotstar)?
JioCinema (JioHotstar) scores 63/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the IN, a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), in-app, email.
JioCinema merged with Disney+ Hotstar in February 2025 to form JioHotstar, the successor platform in India. Subscribers can cancel directly through the JioHotstar app (My Space > Help & Settings > Account Settings > Cancel Subscription) or via the website, or through the Google Play / Apple App Store if subscribed through those platforms. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period with no pro-rated refunds issued; access continues until the paid cycle expires. Subscriptions obtained through partner bundles (Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL, Flipkart) do not auto-renew and expire automatically.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
