How hard is it to cancel Hetzner?
Hetzner scores 86/100 (grade A) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — among the most clearly documented cancellation policies we've scored. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).
Hetzner cancellations are fully self-serve online through product-specific admin portals: Hetzner Console for cloud products (immediate deletion, hourly pro-rata billing), Robot for dedicated servers and IPs (30 days notice to end of month), and konsoleH for web hosting and managed products (30 days notice to end of month). New customers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for a full refund; beyond that, cloud products bill hourly with no refund owed, while other products are billed pro-rata for the days used. All data is immediately and permanently deleted upon cancellation with no recovery option.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
