How hard is it to cancel Help Scout?
Help Scout scores 84/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).
Help Scout subscriptions are cancelled entirely online by the Account Owner via Your Plan > Delete Account; cancellation takes effect immediately and the account becomes inaccessible at once. For annual plans, 30 days written notice is required before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies to first payments only; there are no refunds for partial months, unused time on open accounts, or annual prepayments outside that window. Customer data is permanently deleted 60 days after cancellation, with a 14-day grace window during which restoration can be requested in writing.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
