How hard is it to cancel Harvest?

Harvest scores 78/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Harvest allows the Account Owner to cancel online via Settings > Billing — either scheduling cancellation to take effect at the end of the current billing term, or closing the account immediately. Cancellation and account closure are only possible via a web browser; mobile and desktop apps do not support these actions. No refunds are issued for prepaid or unused subscription fees upon voluntary cancellation; service access continues through the end of the paid term. Upon immediate closure, Harvest emails the owner a download link for account data (valid for one week), after which Harvest may delete all data at its discretion.

How to cancel Harvest

  • Pause/freeze: not offered. Account hold/pause (up to 6 months) exists only for legacy Version 1 billing customers. Version 2 billing (current) does not offer a pause or hold option; users must cancel outright or continue paying until term end.
  • Account/data deletion: Upon immediate account closure, the Account Owner receives an emailed link to download time and invoice data, available for one week. Harvest may delete all Customer Data and Personal Data at its sole discretion after termination and has no obligation to retain it. Users are responsible for exporting data before closing. https://www.getharvest.com/terms-of-service

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
