How hard is it to cancel Grindr?

Grindr scores 66/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via in-app.

Grindr subscriptions can only be cancelled through the platform where they were purchased — iOS App Store or Google Play Store — with no web-based self-serve cancellation option. Upon cancellation, premium access continues until the end of the current billing period; no prorated refunds are issued. All purchases including subscriptions and microtransactions are explicitly non-refundable, though Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases and Grindr occasionally processes Google Play refund requests. Deleting the app or Grindr profile does NOT cancel the subscription, requiring users to act through their device's app store settings.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
