Google Fiber residential internet is month-to-month with no contract and no early-termination or cancellation fee. Cancellation is not self-service online: the official 'Cancel GFiber Service' page states you must contact support directly, available by phone (1-866-777-7550), chat, or email; service stays active until the cancellation date you select. Once disconnected, a credit for the remaining portion of the current billing cycle is applied toward any remaining balance. Provided equipment (Network Box/mesh devices, excluding the GFiber/Fiber Jack and inside wiring) must be returned within 60 days or Replacement Fees apply.

  • Official cancellation page: https://gfiber.com/support/en/answer/1844/
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause/hold option is documented for residential GFiber internet. Stopping service is handled as a cancellation with a selectable disconnect date.

  • Account/data deletion: Privacy Policy (updated May 5, 2026) states GFiber keeps account data only as long as needed to provide Services, retaining some data longer for legal/business purposes. Returned equipment is reflashed, deleting customer settings. Customers in states with applicable privacy laws may request deletion by contacting support. https://gfiber.com/legal/privacy/

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
