Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Google Fi can be cancelled at any time with no termination fees via the Fi app or website (Account > Manage plan > Cancel service), or by phone. Cancellation takes effect immediately but the number stays active until ported; Flexible plan customers receive a prorated credit for unused days, while Unlimited plan customers are charged the full billing cycle with no proration. Up to two final bills may follow cancellation (within 30-90 days), and service credits are non-refundable.

How to cancel Google Fi

  • Channels: online (self-serve), in-app, phone
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.google.com/fi/answer/6079398?hl=en
  • Pause/freeze: available — Google Fi allows temporary service pause (up to 3 months for standard users, up to 39 months for military) via the app or website; the number is retained and device protection/financing charges continue during the pause.
  • Account/data deletion: Google Fi does not have a separate data-deletion flow; the service account is tied to a Google Account, so data deletion is handled through Google Account settings. Canceling Fi service does not automatically delete the underlying Google Account or its associated data. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/10549751

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
