How hard is it to cancel Globoplay?

Globoplay scores 67/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the BR — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), in-app.

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Globoplay subscriptions can be cancelled online via minhaconta.globo.com (Ver Pagamentos > Cancelar assinatura) or through the app store used at sign-up (Google Play or Apple App Store); cancellation must be done through the same channel as the original purchase. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing cycle — access continues until the period expires and no pro-rated refund is issued for unused days. Subscribers have a 7-day cooling-off right under Brazil's Consumer Protection Code (CDC Art. 49) for contracts concluded online, entitling them to a full refund within that window; after 7 days no refund is available. For annual plans paid in installments, the remaining installments continue to be charged even after cancellation is confirmed.

How to cancel Globoplay

  • Channels: online (self-serve), in-app
  • Official cancellation page: https://globoplay.globo.com/ajuda/
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. Globoplay does not offer a native subscription pause or freeze feature. Pause via Google Play billing is a platform-level option for subscriptions purchased through Google Play, not a Globoplay product feature.
  • Account/data deletion: Account and data deletion is available via minhaconta.globo.com — scroll to bottom and click 'Excluir conta Globo'. Active subscriptions must be cancelled first. Deletion request takes approximately 45 days to process. Deletion removes access to all Globo products (Globoplay, Cartola PRO, Premiere, etc.). https://minhaconta.globo.com

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
