How hard is it to cancel The Globe and Mail?

Per The Globe and Mail Terms and Conditions, a periodic subscription 'will continue until it is cancelled' (auto-renewal default) and renewal fees are charged to the card on file. Cancellation of print and longer direct subscriptions requires phoning the Customer Solutions Centre at 1-800-387-5400 with 'no less than 28 days notice'; there is no online self-serve cancellation for direct print/digital subscriptions (App Store and Google Play sign-ups are cancelled in those stores). No refund is given for the current billing period and 'No refunds will be provided for amounts less than $5 CDN'; access continues to the end of the paid period. No EU-style cooling-off period applies (Canadian jurisdiction).
