How hard is it to cancel Freetrade?
Freetrade scores 84/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the GB — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.
Freetrade offers paid Standard and Plus subscription plans on top of a free tier. Monthly subscribers downgrade or cancel self-serve in-app via Portfolio, then Profile, then Manage your plan, then Change your plan, with the change taking effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Annual subscribers wanting to downgrade mid-cycle must contact support ([email protected] or in-app chat); they receive a pro-rata credit minus any annual discount and a £5 administration fee. A 14-day cooling-off cancellation right applies to new plan subscriptions and accounts. Plans auto-renew unless disabled in Manage your plan, and a SIPP must be closed or transferred before downgrading.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
