How hard is it to cancel Free Mobile?

Free Mobile scores 70/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the FR — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), postal mail, phone.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Free Mobile subscribers can cancel at any time (no commitment) via the Espace Abonné portal at mobile.free.fr (online form) or by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt (LRAR); phoning 3244 provides information only, and porting out via RIO code (call 3179) also auto-cancels the contract. The 10-day notice period begins from electronic submission or receipt of the registered letter, and the subscriber may choose an effective date 10–60 days from the request. All plans are sans engagement so there are no early-termination fees. The CGA (updated 10 December 2024) does not disclose a prorata refund for the unused portion of a prepaid month; billing is monthly in advance with no explicit partial-month credit on cancellation.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
