Fitness First Australia members cancel by speaking to staff at reception in their home club, calling the home club on 1300 55 77 99, or sending a written request to the home club; there is no online or in-app cancellation path. A 30-day notice period applies (14 days in the ACT and SA), and any instalments falling due during the notice window remain payable. New members get a 7-business-day cooling-off period with a full refund less a reasonable admin fee (the fee is waived if access cards and merchandise are returned within 7 days). Cancelling within a minimum term incurs early-termination fees of roughly $195-$395 depending on the remaining term and tier, while upfront memberships can be refunded for the unexpired portion less cancellation fees. Members can also freeze for up to 4 weeks per calendar year at $5/week via the app.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
