How hard is it to cancel Fastmail?
Fastmail scores 82/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the AU — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).
Fastmail provides a fully self-serve online cancellation at Settings → Billing & Plan → 'Learn more and cancel this plan' → 'Confirm cancellation'. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing cycle — the account remains usable until expiry. No refunds are offered for unused subscription time. Users can undo cancellation before the expiry date. An immediate hard-delete option is also available in the same Billing & Plan screen. Data is permanently deleted 7 days after account closure. Downgrading to a lower plan is also self-serve via the same settings area, with unused credit applied to the new plan. No phone, email, or chat channel is required to cancel.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
