E.ON electricity and gas contracts in Germany can be cancelled via an online cancellation form on eon.de (no login required), by email to [email protected], or by post/fax. Under §312k BGB, E.ON is required to provide a Kündigungsbutton for online-concluded contracts, and an online cancellation form is available at the dedicated cancellation page, though multiple third-party sources note that self-service cancellation directly within the 'Mein E.ON' authenticated portal remains limited. Notice periods are typically 4 weeks to the end of the agreed contract term for most tariffs (2 weeks for Grundversorgung basic supply; up to 2 months for 24-month fixed terms); contracts signed after 1 March 2022 are capped at a maximum 4-week notice period under reformed law. A final invoice (Schlussrechnung) is issued within 6 weeks of contract end, and credit balances must be refunded within 2 weeks of the final bill per the Energiewirtschaftsgesetz (EnWG); however E.ON's own cancellation page does not prominently detail proration terms. Special termination rights apply for price increases (cancellation until the day before the new rate takes effect), relocation, and unilateral contract changes.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
