Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access to Super features continues until then. Refunds for iOS/Android subscriptions must be requested through Apple or Google respectively; web subscription refunds require contacting Duolingo support directly.

  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No subscription pause or freeze feature exists; Streak Freeze is an in-app gameplay feature only and does not suspend billing.

  • Account/data deletion: Account and personal data can be deleted via the Duolingo Data Vault (web) or through Profile > Settings > Delete Account on iOS; deletion takes up to 30 days and is irreversible. Users must cancel their active subscription separately before deleting, as account deletion does not stop billing charges. https://www.duolingo.com/help/delete-my-account-and-data

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
