How hard is it to cancel Duolingo Super?
Duolingo Super scores 75/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), in-app.
Duolingo Super can be cancelled online via account settings (web) or through the platform where the subscription was purchased (Apple Subscriptions for iOS, Google Play for Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access to Super features continues until then. No refunds or proration are issued for the remaining unused portion of a paid period. Refunds for iOS/Android subscriptions must be requested through Apple or Google respectively; web subscription refunds require contacting Duolingo support directly.

- Pause/freeze: not offered. No subscription pause or freeze feature exists; Streak Freeze is an in-app gameplay feature only and does not suspend billing.

- Account/data deletion: Account and personal data can be deleted via the Duolingo Data Vault (web) or through Profile > Settings > Delete Account on iOS; deletion takes up to 30 days and is irreversible. Users must cancel their active subscription separately before deleting, as account deletion does not stop billing charges. https://www.duolingo.com/help/delete-my-account-and-data

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
