Subscribers can schedule a disconnection via the MyDStv website (My Products > Disconnect icon), the MyDStv app, or WhatsApp (060 060 3788); phone support and in-person MultiChoice service centres are also available. Disconnection takes effect on the next payment date, the service remains active until then and no refund is issued for the remaining prepaid period. Monthly subscriptions have no early-exit fee once outside a contract term, but DStv Internet and bundled contracts carry a 7-day cooling-off period (no fee) and cancellation fees from day 8 through month 22. Account deletion/data erasure can be requested separately under POPIA via the MultiChoice privacy portal.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
