Direct Line UK car insurance can be cancelled via phone, online account, mobile app, WhatsApp/webchat, or written letter (PO Box 133, Swindon, SN38 6YP). A 14-day cooling-off period applies from receipt of policy documents, cancellation within this window incurs only a pro-rata charge for days covered, with no separate cancellation fee. After 14 days, a cancellation fee of approximately £50 applies plus a deduction for days already covered; no refund is issued if a claim has been made during the policy. Under UK CMA auto-renewal guidance, cancellation of auto-renewal is available online or by phone at any time.
