Coursera subscriptions can be cancelled online via the 'My Purchases > Subscriptions' page or through the mobile app (Settings > My Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with full access retained until then. Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable except as required by law; annual Coursera Plus plans have a 14-day refund window from first payment. EU/UK users have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right from contract commencement.

How to cancel Coursera

  • Channels: online (self-serve), in-app
  • Official cancellation page: https://www.coursera.org/about/terms
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is mentioned in Coursera's Terms of Use or help documentation; cancellation ends access at the billing period end.
  • Account/data deletion: Users can delete their account via Settings > scroll to delete option (self-serve), or email [email protected]. Deletion removes learner profile, course history, and certificates — certificates cannot be reissued after deletion. Some users enrolled in for-credit degree/certificate programs cannot delete their account. Coursera may retain limited data for legal compliance after deletion. https://www.coursera.org/about/privacy

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
