How hard is it to cancel Cognito Forms?

Cognito Forms scores 80/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-16 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Cancellation is fully online and self-service: in Settings under Plan & Billing the user selects the free Individual plan and clicks Change Plan to confirm. Paid subscriptions auto-renew (monthly or annually) unless cancelled before the renewal date, and subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as stated in the Terms or required by law. Cancelling an annual plan stops renewal but does not shorten the active term and gives no prorated refund. When downgrading mid-month, a prorated credit for the remaining time is applied to future payments rather than refunded.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
