Codecademy scores 84/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Subscribers can cancel at any time online via Account Settings > Manage Payments; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle with continued access until then. Codecademy issues no prorated or partial refunds for any subscription cancellation; the no-refund rule is stated in both the Help Center and Terms of Service, with a narrow exception for plans that expressly state otherwise or where required by law. Monthly subscribers are offered a pause option (1–3 months, no charge) before completing cancellation; annual plans are ineligible for pause. Cancelling a subscription does not delete the account — a separate deletion request must be submitted through the Privacy Center.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
