How hard is it to cancel Coda?

Coda scores 76/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Coda cancellation is self-serve online: workspace admins navigate to billing settings and click Downgrade to the Free plan, which takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pro/Team customers retain paid access through that period plus a 14-day grace period to remove paid features before docs become read-only; Enterprise customers must contact their account team. The Terms of Service (now hosted under Superhuman after acquisition) explicitly state all payments are non-refundable and non-cancelable, though a prorated account credit (not a cash refund) may be applied when removing Doc Makers.

How to cancel Coda

  • Channels: online (self-serve), email
  • Official cancellation page: https://help.coda.io/hc/en-us/articles/39555850340237-Downgrade-your-Coda-workspace
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is documented. The only downgrade path is to the Free plan.
  • Account/data deletion: Account deletion is self-serve via account settings (Profile > Delete Account). Requires email confirmation code. Permanently deletes all docs and data; irreversible. Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
